The All-purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment (ALICE) was adopted by the US Army in 1973.
It is lighter and more modular than the earlier M-1956 and M-1967 individual carrying equipment that it replaced.
ALICE keeper clip is used in Conjunction normally with an ALICE System.
